Orlando police arrest ex-fiancé in 2011 disappearance of Michelle Parker

ORLANDO, Fla. (WWSB) - Orlando police arrested the ex-fiancé of Michelle Parker on Wednesday in connection with her disappearance 14 years ago.Dale Smith Jr. was arrested on a second-degree murder charge after new evidence came to light over the past year, according to Orlando police.Orlando police said new technology allowed investigators to retest existing evidence in the case, including vehicles, electronic devices and other materials.Arrest made in unsolved 1999 Sarasota murder caseSmith was always a person of interest after Parker disappeared, police said.The pair appeared on the reality TV show “The People’s Court.” Hours later, Parker was last seen dropping off her then-3-year-old twins at Smith’s condo before heading to work, according to police. She has never been found.Orlando police said all of the evidence points to Smith, even though his ex-fiancée’s body has never been found.Smith’s attorney said his client is innocent.
